my childhood makes an appearance on the redline 2 train...

So, there I am. Sitting on the uptown 2 train heading home after a long day at work. Out of the corner of my eye I spot a dead-ringer look-a-like to my favorite singer of my childhood - Charlotte Diamond. I immediately thought about how jealous I was that Megan Dachtler got invited up on stage in 1991 at her concert at the Civic Center in B-town. She was always a lucky girl. I believe it was for the very popular hit "Love Bug." I laughed to myself thinking that I havent even thought of Charlotte since first grade and now here she was - right in front of me in the crowded subway car.
Then my eyes shifted to a man in a yellow rain coat. I couldnt believe it. His outfit was the EXACT costume I wore for "The Fisherman and His Wife" - an obvious hit at our Buena Vista Elementary school play in 1995. I remembered how pissed I was that I didnt get the lead role and had to wear the UGLY yellow rain coat and carry a fishing pole.
What are the odds? At least I was entertained by the funny details of these childhood events in my head on the way home. And realized that I must have been a very jealous child.

Not the same...

I miss my girls! This pic was taken on Shan's last weekend when we went to Atlantic City and gambled our lives away (ok...maybe just Sarah, and me a little). But anyway...I miss them and wish that we could reunite soon. I LOVE YOU, bias!

Photo shoot with the MOE

The Moe

K, these are obviously not the pictures, but hopefully we will have some shots soon. This is just to document our fabulous night!

It was so fun to get dressed up and pretend that we were on America's Next Top Model. Ha! Tyra would be proud. "It's not like this, but like this!"

"Can you see my knickas?"

I am still deciding if I like her...but I do like her catch phrases. MAJOR!

I cried...

Sarah and I felt like watching a real good movie tonight - and we did! I had never seen The Shawshank Redemption...and let me tell you....AMAZING! Of course I cried (as I do in most movies), but Brooks and Tommy broke my heart! See this movie!!

And then he commanded Noah to build an arc...

Ok...so maybe my post is a little dramatic, but for those of you who dont know - MY APARTMENT FLOODED LAST WEEK. I woke up as usual, 9am bright and early to leave for work ten minutes later and put my feet down on my basement floor in the pitch black to be submerged by water. Yes, our apartment had flooded in the middle of the night! Everything TOUCHING the ground is ruined! No, we do not have renters insurance. Yes, we are retarded for not having insurance. Yes, it sucks. No, it wasnt our fault. There was a pipe that broke in a building on our street. Our neighbors were flooded too and my fantasy of having hot firemen in my bedroom was not how I had pictured it being. The dirty water and urine smell is almost all gone now. Good times in NYC.
